Ted English, former president and CEO of The TJX Companies in Framingham, has been named CEO of Bob's Discount Furniture, a Manchester, CT-based furniture retailer.
Bob's Discount Furniture has store locations throughout the Northeast, including New York, New Jersey, Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. The retailer plans to continue to expand throughout the region, with new locations planned in New York and Rhode Island. The company currently operates 25 stores.
English was chosen for the position due to his accomplishments with the TJX Cos., including the addition of 900 stores and revenue growth from $8.9 billion to $15 billion under his leadership. The firm also added 50,000 employees during English's tenure.
