Shira Goodman, the former CEO of Framingham office supply retailer Staples, has been elected to the board of directors of Los Angeles real estate giant CBRE Group.
Goodman, who first joined Staples in 1992, led the company from 2016 to 2018, overseeing a $7-billion acquisition by New York-based Sycamore Capital Partners, before departing in January 2018.
“CBRE will benefit greatly from Shira’s business acumen and deep and diverse leadership experience,” said Brandon Boze, CBRE’s board chair. “We look forward to her contributions to advancing our strategy and creating additional value for all our stakeholders.”
In addition to CBRE, Goodman services as an advisory director to Charlesbank Capital Partners in Boston and is on the board of directors of CarMax, Inc. in Virginia and Henry Schein, Inc. in New York.
“CBRE is the industry leader with a focused strategy, commitment to responsible business practices and outstanding record of growth,” Goodman said in a statement. “I am very excited to help the company build on its success and deliver great outcomes for clients, employees, shareholders and local communities.”
