The former president of Nypro Inc.'s largest division has been tapped as president, CEO and board member of a Connecticut manufacturer.
Farmington, Conn.-based Mott Corp., which manufactures porous metal products used to filter gases and liquids in various industrial processes, said Boris F. Levin is replacing its retiring president.
Roger Klene led Mott for 18 years.
Levin was president of Clinton-based Nypro's health care division. Nypro, a plastics injection molding manufacturer, was recently acquired by Florida-based Jabil Circuit for $665 million.
Levin said in a statement that he feels "fortunate to be able to join another company that appreciates and values employee ownership."
Like Nypro was before its recent sale, Mott is 100-percent employee owned, with workers accruing internal shares in the company for their performance and years of service.
David Gordon, Mott's chairman, said in a statement Levin's background will be useful at Mott.
"Boris' background in manufacturing for the medical industry, and his otherwise strong combination of academic, technical, and business credentials are ideal to lead Mott as it increasingly relies on specialized engineering and science to produce value-add products," Gordon said.
