A pub-style restaurant and bar called 107 Tap has been approved to open on Water Street in Worcester, run by Jefferson Mararian, who owned another Water Street bar for 12 years.
At a license commission Thursday morning, Mararian outlined plans for 107 Tap, which will include a full kitchen serving pub-style food, a pool table, and live music.
Mararian bought the properties from 105 to 111 Water St. for $1.3 million in December and has been performing renovations on the space since. He previously owned Blackstone Tap on Water Street and sold it to Kevin Perry, who was later convicted of using the bar and another restaurant to launder drug money.
The property at 107 Water St. has previously housed other bars and is located next to Whiskey on Water night club. Mararian said he hopes to attract an after-work crowd to his new business.
The license commission approved licenses to serve food and alcohol, as well as provide music, dancing, karaoke, and outdoor seating.
