Less than eight months after purchasing a former Becker College property for $230,000, a North Grafton entity has sold the parcel for $312,000.
The building known as the 1812 House was sold in a deal finalized on July 16, according to Worcester District Registry of Deeds records. The property was purchased by SZA Holdings, a Wyoming-based entity with an office in Boston, according to Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth records.
Despite its name, the 1812 House was constructed around 1840, according to Town of Leicester property records. The two-story, 11-room house at 981 Main St. was utilized as student housing when it was owned by Becker College, which shut down in 2021. The Town of Leicester acquired the property following the closure, later auctioning off 981 Main St. and four other properties for a combined $1.24 million.
The house is located in a historic district, meaning the new owners will need to get Town approval before making any changes to the exterior of the structure.
The 0.36-acre property was sold by G&R Investment Group, a corporation based in North Grafton managed by Germano Lima of North Grafton and Roberto Rabassa of Hartford.
The parcel was given a tax assessment value of $439,200 in 2024, according to Town of Leicester property records.
