Former Apple CEO John Sculley has accepted an expanded role at RxAdvance in Southborough, taking on the role of chairman and chief marketing officer.
“After leaving Apple, I have acted as an advisor, investor and board member in over two dozen companies. RxAdvance is the first company that has inspired me to get involved as an operating partner,” Sculley said in a statement.
Sculley is a founding investor and has been RxAdvance vice chairman and has helped define the company’s vision, said Ravi Ika, the founder and CEO of RxAdvance.
Sculley lead Apple as CEO from 1983 to 1993 and is best known for his clashes with co-founder Steve Jobs over technology and management styles, which lead to Jobs departing the company. Sculley also served as CEO and president of PepsiCo from 1977 to 1982, during which the company gained market share over Coca-Cola after the introduction of the Pepsi Challenge.
RxAdvance is a national full-service pharmacy benefit manager that, according to the company, leverages its digital platforms to provide cost savings.
