Fontaine Bros., a construction company with offices in Worcester and Springfield, announced on Tuesday it has named Elizabeth Wambui as the company’s director of diversity, inclusion and impact.
In that role, Wambui will be tasked with helping to maximize opportunities for minority and women-owned businesses, as well as help the company attract a more diverse workforce, according to the announcement.
As part of this effort, Fontaine Bros. plans to partner with local unions, trade schools and other community groups.
Wambui is the first person to serve in this role for Fontaine.
Prior to joining Fontaine, Wambui served as director of advancement at the private Nativity School of Worcester. A graduate of North High School and College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Wambui sits on boards at Bancroft School, Shine Initiative, Women in Development of Central Massachusetts, Worcester Historical Museum and the YWCA Central Massachusetts, according to the announcement.
In 2014, she was named to WBJ’s 40 Under Forty.
