BJ's Wholesale Club has made a number of moves to its leadership team after the shocking death of its president and CEO on April 8.
Bob Eddy, who was announced just after Lee Delaney's death as BJ's interim president and CEO, has now been named to those posts permanently, the Westborough retailer said. He will also join the BJ's board of directors.
Laura Felice, another executive, has been lifted into the role Eddy is leaving behind, chief administrative officer. Felice has been a senior vice president and controller and is now an executive vice president and CFO.
Among other leadership changes, BJ's said Tuesday it is promoting Paul Cichocki to executive vice president and chief commercial officer. He has been an executive vice president for membership, analytics and business transformation. Bill Werner, a College of the Holy Cross graduate in Worcester, has been appointed executive vice president for strategy and development. He was previously a senior vice president for strategic planning and investor relations.
Eddy joined BJ's in 2007, became the CFO in 2011 and the chief administrative officer in 2018. He is a Babson College president and previously worked in the audit and business advisory practice at PwC in Boston and San Francisco.
Delaney was out for a run in his hometown of Wellesley when he suffered an emergency and was believed to have died of natural causes, according to BJ's. He had been with the company's executive team since 2016 when he was an executive vice president and chief growth officer.
