Downtown Worcester restaurant Shawarma Palace will reopen Monday following a temporary closure due to staffing issues, restaurant leadership said Sunday.

Last week, the company announced on its website it would close until further notice. The news was first reported by social media website The016.com.

In announcing the reopening, the restaurant did not say whether the staffing issues at hand were shortages or another problem, but said they would be able to reopen their doors again with the help of family and employees.

Shawarma Palace moved from Pleasant Street and into a vacant restaurant space at 20 Franklin St., a building owned by the Worcester Business Development Corp., last fall. The restaurant, which opened in 2014, is owned by Charles Dalli and specializes in both shawarma and other Mediterranean fare.
