A Fremont Street manufacturing building in Worcester has been sold to a Florida property management company for $1.2 million.
The 71,000-square-foot building was formerly home to the David Gessner Co., a manufacturer of textile machinery.
Stephen Schneider, a Worcester developer and landlord primarily of housing units, purchased the property via his property management firm Norfolk Realty, which is based in Florida, according to land records.
Before he purchased the building, a granite company used it for storage. A marijuana cultivator had also been inquiring about the building, but a plans for the building are still in the works, Schneider said.
According to a property flyer, the building can be divided into spaces of 5,000 square feet to as much as 45,000 square feet.
It was built in 1900 and expanded in 1967 to include a metal-framed warehouse in addition to a brick manufacturing space.
