FLEXcon, a Spencer manufacturer of coated and laminated films, has promoted its president to CEO.
Lavon Winkler, the firm's president, was announced for the promotion Friday, taking the role of Neil McDonough, whose family has led the company since its founding in 1956.
McDonough, who became president in 1992, now holds the title of CEO and chairman of FLEXcon Holdings, the manufacturer's parent company, which also includes Blueshift Materials, Arlon and FLEXcon Industrial.
Winkler joined FLEXcon in 2017 as president, reporting directly to McDonough. He was previously the CEO for 11 years of Milbank Manufacturing of Kansas City. He was also the president and CEO of Mid-America Manufacturing Technology Center and president and COO at Western Forms in Kansas City.
"This promotion is a reflection of the leadership that Lavon has demonstrated as we transform into the FLEXcon of the future," McDonough said of Winkler in announcing his new role.
Winkler, who has more than 30 years of executive-level experience, has a master's degree in public and private management from Birmingham Southern University in Alabama, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Missouri.
