Following his hiring, Ebin said the company is exploring globalizing some of its processes.
After announcing a new CEO amid the exit of three high-level executives last week, Spencer-based film and adhesive manufacturer Flexcon has named a replacement for its chief operating officer role.
Morgan Ebin, who most recently served as the chief operating officer at Flexcon’s parent company 44 Maple Group, is now the COO of Flexcon itself, according to a company press release issued Friday.
Prior to joining 44 Maple Group, Ebin held the role of chief manufacturing officer at California-based Arlon Graphics, a firm which is also part of 44 Maple Group’s portfolio. In total, he has more than 25 years of operational leadership experience.
Following his hiring, Ebin said the company is exploring globalizing some of its processes.
"I’m thrilled to join Flexcon and work more closely with this talented team,” Ebin said in the press release. “My focus will be on listening, learning, and collaborating to understand our customers’ needs while driving meaningful improvements across our operations. We will work together to enhance efficiency, globalize processes where it makes sense, and ensure we deliver reliable solutions.”
The company has no current plans to change manufacturing or distribution locations, according to Amanda Monette, senior marketing manager at Flexcon. The company has existing locations in Scotland, The Netherlands, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Mexico, according to its website.
Flexcon has 440 employees in Central Massachusetts and 900 companywide, according to data provided to the WBJ Research Department.
Ebin is the second former 44 Maple Group executive to join Flexcon’s leadership team this month, with Nick Tucci being named Flexcon’s new CEO on Nov. 6.
"Morgan’s appointment marks an important step in building a leadership team that can deliver on Flexcon’s strategic priorities," Tucci said in the Friday press release. "His deep operational expertise and collaborative approach will help us drive efficiency, optimize processes, and foster a culture of continuous improvement, all with the goal of creating greater value for our customers and partners."
In the same press release where Tucci’s hiring was announced, Flexcon disclosed CEO Aimee Peacock, Chief Operating Officer Nick Lupoli, and CFO Matt Gardner had departed the company.
No reason was given for the three executives’ departures, with Peacock declining to comment when reached by WBJ.
