Fletcher Tilton PC, a Worcester-based law firm, promoted two attorneys to roles as directors, essentially becoming shareholders of the organization.
Karen LaFond, a commercial finance attorney, was named director after working at the firm since 2010. LaFond is a member of Fletcher Tilton’s transactional group and concentrates on commercial lending, commercial real estate, and corporate law. She represents lenders and borrowers in commercial finance transactions and financing.
Dani Ruran, an estate planning attorney, was also appointed a director of the firm. Ruran is chair of the retirement planning practice group and has 20 years of experience practicing trust and estate law. He joined the firm in 2016.
Unlike many law firms, which are partnerships, Fletcher Tilton is a professional corporation, so its owners and shareholders hold the title of director, rather than partner.
Fletcher Tilton was founded in 1822 and has 47 attorneys in Central Massachusetts as of 2021, making it the third largest law firm based in the region, according to WBJ Book of Lists data.
