The Fix Burger Bar, a concept from Niche Hospitality Group of Worcester, will open a second location in a closed restaurant space in Marlborough.
Meredith Harris, executive director of the Marlborough Economic Development Corp., said Tuesday the restaurant will open in November in the spot formerly occupied by Allora Ristorante.
That establishment closed abruptly in February after the landlord evicted the restaurant, the MetroWest Daily News reported.
Niche and owner Mike Covino opening a concept in Marlborough has been a long time coming, said Harris, who has been trying to convince the restaurant group to consider Marlborough for several years.
The location is just off of I-495 and a short drive away from the city’s main industrial and business park area, offering a new lunch option to the many workers commuting to the city, but the restaurant is something the city has been after for a while, Harris said.
“They definitely play right into that Millennial group, but I think there’s also something for everyone,” she said.
Covino could not be reached for comment.
“They’ve been waiting for the right opportunity to open here,” Harris said. “That time is now.”
The current Fix location on Grove Street in Worcester will remain, Harris said, citing Covino.
