The Worcester Community Action Council Inc. has appointed five new members to its board of directors: Yung Phan, Dale Allen, Susan Lidonde, Paula Buonomo, and Todd Costa.
Phan, of the Worcester Department of Health and Human Services, will serve as the board's representative from the community sector. She works as a client advocate and outreach worker, serving the Southeast Asian community in the city.
Allen, vice president for community engagement at Quinsigamond Community College, will fill a private sector seat. He acts as a liaison between colleges and community sectors and has experience in fund development, grant writing and community development projects.
Lidonde is a representative of the community sector. She was nominated by the WCAC Community Connections Coalition. She is currently a volunteer tax preparer for the Worcester Earned Income Tax Credit Coalition.
Buonomo, district representative for the office of Rep. James P. McGovern, will fill a public official seat. In McGovern's office, she works with constituents on matters like Social Security, health care and education.
Costa, vice president compliance officer at Bay State Savings Bank, will fill a private sector seat. He has a background in finance and compliance and has been a baseball and basketball coach for 20 years.
