The Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission is expected to approve a new cultivation and retail cannabis shop in Fitchburg for final licensure on Thursday, according to public meeting documents.
The facility, owned by Atlantic Medical Partners of Woburn, would grow and sell recreational and medicinal-use cannabis.
According to the documents, the commission inspected the facility, located at 774 Crawford St., in February and determined AMP was wholly compliant with state regulations concerning security, inventory and storage, cultivation, manufacturing and proposed retail operations.
Following Thursday's meeting, AMP will be allowed to grow and prepare cannabis, but will not yet be allowed to sell it.
The next and final step before retail operations commence will require one last inspection. Scott Murphy, AMP’s director of operations, security and compliance said because of the COVID-19 pandemic, it remains unclear when the final inspection will take place.
AMP is also working on opening cannabis facilities in Salem and Brockton, according to CCC records.
