Fitchburg CEO stepping down Friday

Greg Sullivan, president and CEO of Security Devices International Inc., will step down on Friday.

The president and CEO of Security Devices International Inc. will step down on Friday.

The company, a maker of rubber bullets and other less-lethal projectiles used by military and police forces, announced last month that Gregory Sullivan had resigned as president and CEO to pursue other opportunities. He will officially step down from his position this Friday, July 15.

Dean Thrasher, the current COO and a member of the SDI board of directors will assume the interim role of president and CEO. Sullivan will remain on the board of directors until his replacement is appointed and receives stock exchange clearance, or on Sept. 1, whichever occurs first.

Last week, the company announced it cancelled a $4.14 million acquisition of an undisclosed U.S. manufacturer after a review of the company's financials revealed some concerns.
