Fitchburg center expands addiction treatment offerings

Fitchburg Comprehensive Treatment Center, an outpatient opioid addiction treatment provider, has expanded its programming and medication-assisted treatment plans.

The facility will now offer treatments involving methadone, suboxone, vivitrol, and sublocade, four medications for opioid-use disorder approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The center will use an office-based addiction treatment (OBAT) program, according to a Friday press release from the center.

Comprehensive Treatment Centers is a national healthcare provider with locations across the country. It is headquartered in Franklin, Tennessee.

The center is additionally expanding its hours of operation for intake and injection appointments. It will be open Mondays from 7 a.m.-3 p.m., Tuesdays from 11 a.m.-7 p.m., Wednesdays and Thursdasy from 8 a.m.-3 p.m., and Fridays from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. for its OBAT program. Regular clinical hours at the facility are 5:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Friday and 6 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday. 

In addition to prescribing medications, the services at the Fitchburg center include individual and group counseling sessions and telehealth services.

Other providers in the region including Spectrum Health Systems and the City of Worcester have expanded opioid treatments, amid the increasing opioid-related deaths in Worcester County.
