In the week ending March 21, 652,000 Americans filed claims for unemployment insurance benefits for the first time, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
That’s an increase of 8,000 from the previous week’s revised figure of 644,000. The 4-week moving average was 649,000, a decrease of 1,000 from the previous week.
