First-Time Jobless Claims Up 16K

In the week ending June 28, 404,000 Americans filed for unemployment insurance benefits for the first time, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.

That’s an increase of 16,000 from the previous week’s revised figure of 388,000. The 4-week moving average was 390,500, an increase of 11,250 from the previous week.
