First Danforth classes to be held Jan. 22

Framingham State University bought the Jonathan Maynard Building for $2.2 million in 2017 and folded it into the university, becoming the state's first public school to host a comprehensive art museum.
Framingham State University will hold its first classes at the Danforth Museum later this month, a milestone after the university bought the building in 2017.
Community classes for children, teens and adults will be offered on the third floor of the building, while Framingham State will begin offering some courses within its art department on the building’s first floor.
Renovations continue on the second floor, which will house the Danforth Museum beginning April 14.
Courses are available to students in kindergarten through 12th grade, as well as adults.
Framingham State bought the Jonathan Maynard Building for $2.2 million in 2017 and folded it into the university, becoming the state's first public school to host a comprehensive art museum. The museum includes American art dating from the early 19th Century.
The university committed $4.5 million toward integrating the museum as part of the school.
