Four leases totaling more than 276,000 square feet of warehouse space in Westborough were recently signed, according to Boston-based real estate firm Richards Barry Joyce & Partners (RBJ).
According to the firm — whose partner John Lashar and senior vice president Paukl Leone brokered the deals on behalf of the landlord, TA Associates Realty — Columbia Tech signed a new lease for 68,135 square feet of warehouse space at 27 Otis St. Columbia Tech a subsidiary of Worcester-based Coughlin Cos., was represented by Kelleher & Sadowsky of Worcester. Columbia Tech is a supplier of printed circuit board assembly, systems assembly and electronics contract manufacturing services for the military, communications, industrial, and medical industries. Earlier this year, Coghlin said the expansion was driven by an opportunity to consolidate operations into a more flexible and efficient space.
At the same location, event planning and trade show company Corporate Communications signed a new lease for 19,087 square feet of warehouse space. That company was represented by CB Richard Ellis.
Just down the street, 73,710 square feet of warehouse space was also leased at 10 Otis St. Worcester-based Rand-Whitney, a manufacturer of corrugated paperboard, leased the space and was represented by Kelleher & Sadowsky. RBJ said the company occupies the whole building.
In addition, WorkFlowOne renewed its lease for 116,000 square feet at 1-5 Sassacus Dr., just off Otis Street. WorkflowOne provides managed print and promotional marketing materials in the U.S. It was represented in the deal by Cresa Boston.
Lashar said Westborough has been one of the more active communities for industrial leases so far this year. According to RBJ, the Interstate 495 West submarket contains 6.2 million square feet of warehouse space and was 16.3 percent vacant as of March 31.
