The state Division of Standards has upheld a fine of a Sturbridge gas station for an advertising violation.
The state said a street sign at Sam’s Citgo at 400 Main St. in Sturbridge claimed gas cost $3.75 per gallon, but the actual pump price was $3.83. It fined the station $100, and the business appealed but was denied.
In a similar case, Medford Square Gas in Medford was fined $900 for listing incorrect prices on signs sitting on top of its pumps.
