Family Health Center of Worcester has named a 20-year health center executive as the successor to longtime CEO Frances Anthes.
Louis Brady will assume the lead role in the organization beginning April 1, but he has been working there since March 11 to allow for a transition period with Anthes.
Brady’s career in community health centers began in 1999 when he worked on the senior leadership team for Jewish Memorial Hospital in Boston. He’s since worked as chief operations officer for Cornell Scott Hill Health Center in New Haven, Conn., executive director for Geiger Gibson Community Health Center in Boston, site director for Community Health Center in Meriden, Conn., and chief operating officer for Lowell Community Health Center.
He holds an undergraduate degree in industrial management from UMass Lowell and an MBA from Northeastern University in Boston.
“I consider it a real privilege to join this community of leaders, to stand on the shoulders of those who served before me, and expand upon this institution’s great legacy,” Brady said in a statement. “I am honored to join my voice to the chorus of those seeking the best for the residents of Worcester.”
The selection of Brady comes after a comprehensive and inclusive search for a new CEO after Anthes announced her retirement in June. Anthes served the organization for 28 years, including the last 22 as president and CEO.
