The U.S. Small Business Administration has awarded $50,000 to Worcester’s to Massachusetts Biomedical Initiatives as part of $3.4 million in national funding.
The funds will support the life and health science incubator with four locations in the city, according to a release from Congressman Jim McGovern (D-Worcester). MBI is home to 25 startup life and health science companies working on an array of healthcare related causes including cancer, diabetes and genetic disorders.
MBI was one of 68 winners of the contest that drew 400 applications. The contest was designed to highlight areas where there are gaps in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
