Slowed by a partial shutdown of the federal government, the Patrick administration will wait until Nov. 22 to release the next round of state jobs and unemployment data, but will include data covering three months - August, September and October - at that time.
An official with the state Office of Labor and Workforce Development said the schedule was laid out by the federal government, and the state was originally supposed to release the September numbers Oct. 17, after the scheduled Oct. 4 federal release.
The last release of statewide employment data occurred Sept. 19, when the office said Massachusetts added 7,500 jobs in August and the unemployment rate remained flat at 7.2 percent.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics had to furlough employees, and delayed its release of September jobs numbers to this past Tuesday, when it reported that the national unemployment rate dropped to 7.2 percent. The November release will include revised August and September unemployment rate and jobs numbers as well as the preliminary October numbers.
The state office generally releases preliminary numbers and then adjusts those numbers for accuracy the following month.
