The Producer Price Index rose by 0.1 percent in February, spurred on by increases in energy prices, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Producer prices increased by 0.8 percent in January.
The bureau said energy prices increased by 1.3 percent during the month while food prices fell by 1.6 percent. The core PPI, which does not include volatile food and fuel prices, increased 0.2 percent. The core PPI increased 0.4 percent in January.
