Natick’s Boston Scientific Corp. has received U.S. Food & Drug Administration approval for a new wiring system used in the company’s defibrillators and pacemakers.
The Acuity Break Away lead delivery system carries electric signals between the heart and the medical devices that prevent against heart failure.
The approved system allows doctors to install the system with fewer steps during surgery and the wire can be built in multiple designs to cater to the patient’s specific need, Boston Scientific said.
