FCHP Doles Out Grants To State Nonprofits

Fallon Community Health Plan (FCHP) has distributed grants to eight organizations in Massachusetts to assist those programs focusing on four areas of assistance.

The Community Benefits Grants Program helps organizations focusing on at-risk youth; improved access to nutrition and physical activity; health and social services for seniors; and individuals with behavioral and/or mental health issues.

In Central Massachusetts, recipients were:

 

  • Hope Coalition of Worcester: $20,000 to support the HOPE Mental Health Model focusing on prevention, treatment, asset building and staff training for programs regarding adolescent mental health;

 

  • Nativity School of Worcester: $10,000for the school’s academic and after-school program;

 

  • Boys & Girls Club of Worcester: $10,000 to support Healthy Habits, a long-running program designed to promote health and wellness for youth members;

 

  • Veterans Inc.: $24,000 to the Veterans Mental Health & Substance Abuse Program with has a goal of assisting about 225 veterans statewide to lead productive, stable and independent lives by connecting and engaging them with mental health treatment.
