Fallon Community Health Plan has appointed former Ambassador Christopher F. Egan and pediatrician Lynda M. Young to its board of directors.
Egan, who served as the U.S. permanent representative to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in France under the George W. Bush administration, is president and a founding member of Carruth Capital LLC of Westborough. He has also served on the MassDevelopment board of directors, the UMass Memorial Health Care board of trustees and the Central Massachusetts Regional Competitiveness Council and is a former director of the Corridor Nine Chamber of Commerce.
Egan and his wife, Jean Egan, founded the nonprofit foundation "Break the Cycle of Poverty."
He has a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a master's degree in public administration from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He lives in Boston with his wife and three children.
Young has practiced primary care pediatrics and taught students and medical residents at Chandler Pediatrics for 32 years. She is a professor of clinical pediatrics and chief of the Division of Community Pediatrics at UMass Memorial Medical Center.
Since 2004, she has served on the FCHP Service and Quality Oversight Committee. She is also active in a number of medical and community organizations, and was the first woman president of the Worcester District Medical Society.
Young lives in Worcester with her husband, Robert Sorrenti. They have two sons, Michael and John.
