Family Health Center earns grant for facility improvements

The Family Health Center of Worcester has been given a $23,000 state grant to help pay for facility improvements that can include coronavirus pandemic-related needs.

The center was one of six statewide to receive funding announced Tuesday by MassDevelopment, the state’s economic development agency. All six received up to $50,000 to fund improvements including construction, renovation, equipment, furniture, technology-related projects.

The Family Health Center will use the funds to upgrade its public restrooms and meet new infection control standards throughout its Queen Street facility. President and CEO Lou Brady said the funds will allow the health center to continue safely serving the community during the pandemic while adjusting to new needs.
