The board of managers for Fallon Total Care, a newly-formed health care organization headquartered in Worcester, has named Mary C. Ritter president and CEO.
Ritter's appointment is effective Nov. 19, according to a statement from Fallon Total Care. She is the first person to lead the organization, after it was established in March as a health care organization for patients who are eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid.
Fallon Total Care, a joint-venture between Fallon Community Health Plan (FCHP) and Magellan Health Services, is a three-year demonstration program that has been approved to provide care in 10 Massachusetts counties, including Worcester, Middlesex and Norfolk counties.
Ritter joined FHCP in 2004 to lead the organization's strategic planning as senior vice president. Richard Burke, chairman of the board for Fallon Total Care, said she is the ideal person to lead the organization.
"She has proven leadership skills, a deep understanding of the state's health care system and experience in the delivery of coordinated care to vulnerable populations," Burke said.
