Worcester-based insurance company Fallon Health has welcomed Dr. Jean Jaoude as vice president and medical director of the not-for-profit’s Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly.
PACE, locally referred to as Summit ElderCare, provides individualized assistance and medical care to older adults, allowing them to live independently and out of nursing homes, according to a Wednesday press release from Fallon Health.
In his new role, Jaoude will oversee medical care delivery to PACE’s approximately 1,4000 enrolled clients across its five Massachusetts centers located in Worcester, Leominster, Webster, Lowell, and Springfield.
Jaoude replaces Dr. Randi Berkowitz, who left the role to serve as associate medical director at MassHealth, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Board certified in family, geriatric, and hospice and palliative medicine, Jaoude joins Fallon Health having most recently acted as chief medical director of the supportive and palliative care department within the ChristianaCare health system in Delaware. He has also served as chief medical officer of the hospice and community palliative care division at Baystate Health in Springfield.
In addition to his professional career, Jaoude is a member of several medical societies including the American Association for Physician Leadership in Washington, D.C., American Academy of Family Physicians with headquarters in Kansas, and the New York-based American Geriatrics Society.
Jaoude earned his master’s degree in health care administration from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management and his medical degree from Lebanese University in Lebanon.
