Worcester insurer Fallon Health has hired Sean Murphy for the newly created position of chief network strategist.
The chief network strategist position was created to establish new network relationships and to maintain and improve existing provider relationships, in line with Fallon’s March 2021 decision to pivot away from the commercial health insurance market to focusing on government programs, according to Fallon’s announcement Friday.
Murphy joins Fallon from Steward Health Care System of Dallas, where he served as senior vice president of managed care contracting.
“Having worked on both the payer and provider side of network development, he is uniquely qualified to support our efforts to expand access to high-quality health care through innovative contracting,” Fallon CFO Todd Bailey said in a press release.
