Seven years after the Worcester Red Sox secured Fallon Health as a founding sponsor in September 2018, the baseball team has signed a three-year partnership extension with the Worcester-based healthcare insurer.
The extension will see Fallon Health sponsor the ballpark’s Americans with Disabilities Act accessible seating through 2028, which included 99 seats throughout 10 sections, according to a Monday press release from the WooSox.
Additionally, Fallon will sponsor two Silver Slugger games on April 23 and Aug. 26, celebrating older adults throughout Central Massachusetts.
“This collaboration reflects our deep commitment to the Worcester community and our admiration for all the WooSox do to bring people together. As we take the next step in our relationship, we’re excited to create new benefits for fans and visitors that align with our mission, especially initiatives that support older adults,” Manny Lopes, Fallon Health president and CEO, said in the release.
The WooSox did not return WBJ’s request for the financial terms of the partnership extension.
“In the WooSox’ first five seasons in Worcester, our friends at Fallon Health went above and beyond to promote health and wellbeing,” Jack Verducci, the WooSox’ executive vice president of corporate partnerships & ticket sales, said in the release.
Examples of Fallon’s support for the team have included providing sunscreen to fans; hosting Fallon Health’s Future Starters, a program for young fans to meet WooSox players; and donating $250,000 to the Worcester County Food Bank via the system’s Strike Out Hunger campaign.
“Fallon Health’s commitment to the communities of Central Mass has been extraordinary, and we are thrilled to collaborate with their dedicated team for another three years,” Verducci said in the release.
Fallon is one of 20 founding partners of the WooSox listed on milb.com, the official website of Minor League Baseball. These sponsors include Worcester-based institutions such as Assumption University, Fontaine Bros., UMass Memorial Health, Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce, and Wormtown Brewery.
