Worcester nonprofit health insurer Fallon Health is expanding a program for people in Western Massachusetts who receive both Medicaid and Medicare benefits.
The program for low-income seniors will be the only one of its kind for those in Berkshire County, according to Fallon, which announced the program earlier this month.
The NaviCare program offers more benefits than recipients would received through Medicare or MassHealth, the state's Medicaid program, Fallon says. It includes preventative and comprehensive dental care, eyeglasses, gym memberships, and rides to medical appointments, the gym, grocery store or other needed destinations. A pre-loaded card also includes money to pay for certain over-the-counter health items.
Members in the program are given a Fallon representative to ensure they are receiving benefits and services they are entitled to in the program.
The NaviCare program is now throughout Massachusetts except Dukes and Nantucket counties.
