Following a November announcement that Fallon Health would be moving its headquarters to One Mercantile, the Worcester-based health insurance company has announced that its name and logo will soon be added to the building’s facade.

Two signs featuring Fallon Health’s name and logo will be added to the building in Spring 2024, according to a release issued Thursday, with one being placed on the front of the building and another facing nearby Interstate 290.

“Adding the Fallon Health name to One Mercantile demonstrates our long-standing commitment to Worcester and pays homage to our past, present, and future,” Christine Cassidy, senior vice president and chief communications officer, said in the statement. “Members, employees, and community partners alike can take great pride in seeing the Fallon Health name featured on the well-known building.”

Fallon Health said in November that the move from their current headquarters at One Chestnut Place will help facilitate growth in its participation in programs such as Medicare and Medicaid. It will also place the company’s headquarters directly between the DCU Center and Polar Park, two venues where the firm is involved in sponsorship deals.

Constructed in 2012, the seven-story, 214,000-square-foot building was once known as the Unum Building, but was rebranded to One Mercantile after the Tennessee-based healthcare company for which it was named announced in July 2020 that they would be switching to a work-from-home model. In September 2023, the Worcester City Council voted to decertify a building tax break given to Unum because of the decision.

Fallon Health’s move to One Mercantile is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2024, according to the release.
