Worcester-based Fallon Health announced on Wednesday that it was appointing two of its staff into senior executive positions, with Dr. David Brumley named as chief medical officer, as well as Kristine Bostek to senior vice president of its PACE program division.
“The experience that Ms. Bostek and Dr. Brumley bring to their new roles will serve Fallon’s members well,” said Richard Burke, president and CEO of Fallon Health in a press release. “Their leadership will help us achieve our strategic goals that support our mission of improving health and inspiring hope.”
Brumley had previously served as Fallon’s vice president of medical affairs and has held roles at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts in Boston and Tufts Health Plan in Medford. He obtained his medical degree from the St. Louis University School of Medicine, an MBA from New Hampshire College (now Southern New Hampshire University) and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He is also an instructor in the Department of Family Medicine & Community Health at UMass Chan Medical School in Worcester.
Bostek, who was worked in the healthcare industry for 30 years and the last eight at Fallon, assumes leadership of the company’s oversight of the PACE, or Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly, a medicaid program for people over the age of 55 who require nursing-home level of care. Fallon Health announced in May it is expanding its coverage area for eligible PACE participants. Bostek has a master’s degree from Clark University in Worcester and a bachelor’s from Saint Michael’s College in Vermont, in addition to serving as board president of the MassPACE Association.
Brumley takes the position over from Carolyn Langer, who is now regional vice president at Indianaoplis-based Anthem, Inc., according to Langer’s LinkedIn page.
According to the WBJ’s most recent book of lists Fallon Health counts more than 172,000 members across the state of Massachusetts, or about 7.8% of the total market.
