Fallon extends deal with sleep benefit manager

Worcester insurer Fallon Health has extended its contract with Hartford-based CareCentrix to continue offering members access to diagnostic testing and therapy programs for sleep disorders for the next three years, according to CareCentrix.
Fallon contracts with Sleep Management Solutions, a subsidiary of CareCentrix, to provide sleep-related diagnostic testing in members’ homes. According to CareCentrix, which specializes in home-based health care management, SMS is the nation’s first sleep benefit manger.
CareCentrix said that its in-home sleep tests typically represent cost savings of 50 percent compared to hospital- or physician-run sleep clinics.
