Fallon Clinic wins award for supporting employees in Nat'l Guard, Reserve

Fallon Clinic has received the Above and Beyond Award from the National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an award recognizing employers who exceed the requirements of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA).

The requirements of the USERRA concern an employer's employment practices regarding members of the National Guard and Reserve forces.  Fallon Clinic credits a policy of providing pay differentials to Reservists and Guard members who are performing their two-week annual training or going on involuntary active duty as a primary reason for receiving the award.

Fallon Clinic also is the first healthcare organization in the Bay State to participate in the Partnership for Youth Success Program (PaYS), a partnership offering 18 to 22 year-old Army veterans the opportunity for employment in their communities.  The agreement allows interested enlistees the opportunity to receive training for healthcare positions while serving in the Army.

"We are well aware of the sacrifices that the military makes to protect our communities and country, and we are committed to achieving ways to honor the work they do through work policies that respect military commitments," said Dr. Michael Kelleher, medical director for quality and medical management at Fallon Clinic.
