Worcester insurer Fallon Health has appointed an adjunct faculty member at Johns Hopkins University in Maryland as its newest board member.
Alice Bonner, whose appointment was announced Wednesday, is a geriatric nurse practitioner and currently serves as director of strategic partnerships for the Johns Hopkins' CAPABLE, or Community Aging in Place-Advancing Better Living for Elders, program and an adjunct faculty member in the nursing school.
Bonner has more than 25 years of experience in creating and improving age-friendly health systems, Fallon said. She is a senior advisor for aging at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, a Boston nonprofit. She has served as secretary of the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs and director of the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' nursing home division.
Bonner received her bachelor's degree in biology and society from Cornell University, her bachelor's in nursing degree from Columbia University, her master’s in nursing from UMass Lowell and her doctorate in nursing from UMass Medical School.
