Dr. Debra Twehous has been named medical director at Fairlawn Rehabilitation Hospital in Worcester, the hospital announced Tuesday.
Twehous joined Fairlawn in 2012, and previously served as the hospital’s chief of physical medicine and rehabilitation. Prior to that, she was medical director at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston, the Burbank Rehabilitation Center in Fitchburg and the VA Medical Center in Long Beach, Calif.
A Lancaster resident, Twehous received her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, where she completed an internal medicine internship. She completed her residency at the University of California at Irvine.
Twehous is an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopedics and Physical Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester.
