L-1 Identity Solutions Inc., a Stamford-based security company, said today it has received two orders from the U.S. Military for portable iris recognition and enrollment devices. The order will be processed by L-1’s wholly-owned subsidiary, SecuriMetrics Inc. and is valued at $2.5 million. The U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps have requested the hand-held devices that identify individuals and store information for 200,000 subjects.
