Following a five-month, $23 million facelift, the DCU Center officially reopened Thursday.
Interior improvements to the 13,840-seat arena include a redesigned box office, four new box suites, new and upgraded restrooms, an expanded concourse and retail spaces, city officials said. The center’s exterior received a new façade, digital marquee, streetscape and landscaped promenade.
Upgrades were also made to the center’s mechanical, electrical and fire protection systems, which include a new chiller plant and emergency generator.
The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus will be the first group to perform in the renovated DCU Center. Its nine-performance run of “Dragons” will run from Wednesday to Oct. 14.
