Evergreen Solar and Fidelity Investments' decisions to close operations in Central Massachusetts will be the subject of a hearing that Bedford state Sen. Mark Montigny is planning for Tuesday.
Both companies have come under fire from Gov. Deval Patrick and others for the closings. Evergreen Solar decided to close its Devens plant, eliminating 800 jobs despite having received multi-million-dollar state funding for the plant. Fidelity recently announced plans to close its office in Marlborough, moving 1,100 jobs out of state.
The hearing, before the Committee on Post Audit and Oversight, which Montigny chairs, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in State House room 222. Witnesses will include Fidelity Investments President Ron O'Hanley, Evergreen Solar CEO Michael El-Hillow and state officials.
