Marlborough-based solar panel product manufacturer Evergreen Solar Inc. is doubling the lifetime of its warranty to 10 years for products sold after the New Year.
The company said that because of quality improvements it began two years ago, it is now extending the warranty on its ES-A and ES-E solar panels from five years to 10 years for the first end-user of the products.
Meanwhile, Evergreen has asked its investors to approve a massive debt restructuring plan as well as raise up to $40 million in new capital, which stockholders will vote on early next year.
