Stow-based heavy construction company E.T.& L. is seeing its first leadership change in more than 30 years as Kerry Maynard has been promoted to president and owner of one of the largest women-owned businesses in Central Massachusetts following the retirement of long-term President and Owner Jennie Lee Colosi.
Having first joined E.T.& L. in 2005 as an office engineer, Maynard advanced to project engineer and project manager/estimator before being named vice president of the company in 2018. She assumed her presidential role in May.
“Kerry started her civil engineering career here at E. T & L. Corp. almost 20 years ago. She has worked her way up from civil engineer to President by being diligent, capable and loyal. I’m leaving the company in wonderful hands. Kerry is a fabulous president and owner to take the company into the future,” said Colosi in a Monday email to WBJ.
Maynard’s appointment marks E.T.& L.’s first president outside of the Colosi family since the 1950s when Colosi’s father, Anthony Colosi, acted as owner and president.
Jennie Lee Colosi had worked at E.T.& L for 50 years when she decided to step down this year. She began her tenure with the business in 1977 as a civil engineer, working her way up to president and treasurer by the time her father retired in 1988.
Under Colosi’s leadership, E.T.& L. has grown to be the 13th largest women-owned business in Central Massachusetts when ranked by number of local employees by WBJ’s Research Department. Founded in 1945, the company had 38 employees as of Q1 to Q2 of 2024.
Maynard earned her bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
