ESPN enters cage of mixed martial arts content

In an effort not to get pinned behind the growing popularity of mixed martial arts, a sport in which caged contestants engage in hand-to-hand combat, Bristol-based ESPN announced an agreement with Sherdog.com, a site that provides "hard-knocking uncompromised reporting" on the sport. ESPN will begin integrating Sherdog content, including videos of matches and a weekly radio show, for a new mixed martial arts section of its Web site. More than 2 million unique visitors per month flock to Sherdog.com, predominantly for coverage of the sport's top competition, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
