During 2006, National Grid customers in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire saved more than 265,550 megawatt hours of electricity – enough to power 32,400 homes for approximately one year – through the utility’s energy efficiency programs.
In addition, participants also helped reduce emissions associated with electricity production. Last year alone, National Grid customers saved more than 130,755 tons of carbon dioxide, the equivalent of removing more than 16,000 cars from the road.
The electricity savings also helped cut $41 million off customers’ bills.
