Hopkinton-based data storage giant EMC Corp. announced it will acquire data warehousing and analytics company Greenplum Inc.
EMC said it will buy the privately held California company in an all-cash deal, which it expects to close in the third quarter of the year. Terms were not disclosed.
Greenplum data analytics tools are used by businesses including Nasdaq, T-Mobile and Fox Interactive Media. EMC said the company will become the foundation for a new division in EMC’s information infrastructure business.
EMC said the acquisition should not substantially affect its earnings per share for the year.
